Our client, an established safari tourism and hospitality group, is looking for a Human Resources Manager. You’ll lead HR for around 150 staff across its Arusha head office and safari camps in northern Tanzania. This is a hands-on role with the chance to build HR systems from the ground up. We’re looking for someone confident, flexible, patient and assertive who will enjoy that challenge. Key Responsibilities – Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for office and field staff. – Maintain employment contracts, job descriptions, personnel files and statutory records. – Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour law, health & safety and fire regulations. – Work with Accounts on monthly payroll, benefits and NSSF, WCF, PAYE and NHIF contributions. – Implement the annual performance review cycle, identify training needs and support succession planning. – Manage disciplinary processes fairly, consistently and confidentially. – Promote a positive, inclusive culture through staff events and recognition. – Oversee the day-to-day running of the head office and coordinate with the camps. Requirements – Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration or a related field. – 3–5 years’ HR experience, ideally in tourism & hospitality. – Expert-level understanding of the Tanzanian Employment and Labour Relations Act. – Fluent English and Swahili. – Proficiency in payroll software, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. – Absolute integrity and discretion, with a calm, diplomatic approach to conflict.
