📌 ### 📌 Project: KOICA Phase 2 (Advancing children's education access through enhanced education, WASH, and child protection services in Cameroon's East Region)

Duty Station: Batouri, East Region, Cameroon

/>Coverage Area: Batouri and Ngoura Subdivisions (Kadey Division)
Supervision: Assistant Program Manager
Contract Type: Fixed-term (CDD), 1 year renewable based on performance/funding

Our integrated approach addresses education, WASH, health, food security, livelihoods, and environment to create thriving futures. In Cameroon, we collaborate with UN agencies, bilateral donors, and INGOs for enduring humanitarian/development solutions.

### 📌 ### 📌 KOICA Phase II, funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and delivered with UNICEF/stakeholders, fortifies local governance/systems for better essential service access among vulnerable populations. It emphasizes education, child protection, WASH, and social services in East Region's Lom & Djerem/Kadey Divisions. Good Neighbors Cameroon recruits a Protection Officer to champion child protection implementation.

GNCMR reaches marginalized children/communities globally via high-impact programs. As a core humanitarian team member, the Child Protection Officer safeguards vulnerable children's rights in the East Region per project goals. They lead prevention/response to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence for refugee/host communities, mainstreaming protection across sectors for child-thriving environments.

### 📌 ### 📌 Key Responsibilities

Child Protection Program Implementation

/>- Drive child protection activities in target communities.
- Identify at-risk children/families.
- Build/strengthen community child protection committees.
- Perform vulnerability assessments.
- Create/implement individualized case plans.
- Refer to social/protection services.

Community Awareness and Prevention
- Conduct sessions on child protection, birth registration, rights, violence prevention.
- Foster safe/protective community/school environments.

Coordination and Referral Mechanisms

### 📌 • Partner with local authorities, social/health/education services.

- Optimize referral pathways.

Monitoring and Reporting

/>- Secure confidential case records.
- Support child protection M&E.
- Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.

Representation and Coordination
- Represent GNCMR in protection forums.
- Collaborate with UNICEF, municipalities, communities.

📌 ### 📌 Required Qualifications

- Master's in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, International Law, or Human Rights.

/>- 5+ years child protection in Cameroon humanitarian/development contexts.

### 📌 • Experience with MINAS/MINPROFF.

- UNICEF/UN implementing partner work preferred.

/>- Expertise in Cameroonian Civil Status laws/UNCRC standards.
- Social/Behavior Change (SBC) for norm-shifting dialogues with leaders.
- Child protection case management/Psychosocial Support for GBV/early marriage survivors.
- Vocational training/scholarships/kit distribution for at-risk youth.
- Child protection system strengthening via sustainable community mechanisms.

- Child-led participation/PSEA/Child Safeguarding commitment.

- Interpersonal/communication/networking/coordination.
