Our holistic interventions cover education, WASH, health, food security, livelihoods, and environment to foster thriving children/communities. In Cameroon, we partner with UN agencies, bilateral donors, and INGOs for enduring humanitarian/development solutions.

### 📌 ### 📌 Funded by KOICA and executed with UNICEF/stakeholders, KOICA Phase II bolsters local systems/governance for improved essential service access among vulnerable populations. Targeting education, child protection, WASH, and social services in East Region's Lom & Djerem/Kadey Divisions, Good Neighbors Cameroon recruits a WASH Officer.

The WASH Officer spearheads field-level WASH implementation, ensuring sustainable safe water, dignified sanitation, and vital hygiene for children/families. Translating UNICEF proposals into climate-resilient, gender-sensitive results, they align with UNICEF standards and Good Neighbors' community-led methodology.

### 📌 ### 📌 Key Responsibilities

- Drive project delivery for quality water, healthy environments, and sustainable sanitation in underserved areas.

/>- Oversee borehole/pump rehabilitation under Water & Energy Delegation supervision.
- Aid municipalities in strengthening water service management.
- Form/train community WASH Committees for facility maintenance/sustainability.
- Manage menstrual hygiene kit distribution; train on reusable pad use/fabrication.
- Lead behavior change campaigns reducing waterborne diseases via hygiene/sanitation/handwashing sensitization.
- Implement Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS), facilitating triggering sessions to end open defecation and advance sanitation ladders.
- Conduct field visits monitoring work quality/national standards compliance.
- Perform assessments verifying engineering standards/habit changes.

### 📌 • Represent GNCMR; coordinate with Water/Energy, Health, Basic Education delegations.

### 📌 ### 📌 Required Qualifications

- Master's in Rural Engineering, Sanitary/Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related.

/>- 5+ years implementing WASH projects in Cameroon humanitarian/development contexts.
- Proven borehole (solar/manual) design/tendering/contractor supervision.
- Strong CLTS expertise, leading triggering for behavioral shifts.
- Kit distribution/training logistics coordination.
- Community campaigns on water safety/handwashing/hygiene.
- Technical bid evaluation/material quality checks per National/UNICEF/KOICA standards.
- Water Point Committee/Municipal engagement for sustainability.
- French fluency; English proficiency; local languages advantageous.
