- 2. HISTORY TEACHER

POSITION 1: SECONDARY SCHOOL HEAD TEACHER

Key Responsibilities:

Formation / DiplĂ´mes

  • Implementing school programs in accordance with Ministry of Education guidelines
  • Planning, coordinating and supervising teaching and learning activities
  • Developing school timetables and managing teachers workloads
  • Overseeing day to day administration, learner discipline and school operations
  • Building positive relationships with parents, teachers and education stakeholders
  • Leading curriculum implementation and monitoring teacher performance

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Education plus a recognized teaching qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher or in a similar leadership role

Strong leadership, management and communication skills

  • Sound knowledge of secondary school policies and Malawi secondary school curriculum
  • Must be a person of high integrity and professionalism
  • Registration with Teachers Council of Malawi.

POSITION 2: HISTORY TEACHER

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching History subject and preparing schemes of work and lesson plans
  • Setting, marking and evaluating examinations and assignments
  • Improving learners academic performance in History
  • Maintaining classroom discipline and supporting learners holistic development
  • Participating in school co-curricular activities Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education, majoring in History
  • At least 3 years teaching experience whether part-time or full-time in a recognized secondary school
  • Good understanding of the current Malawi secondary school History syllabus
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Must be dedicated, self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
