Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Electrician with strong practical knowledge of automotive electrical systems and engineering processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems in vehicles and automotive components.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle electrical and electronic systems. Install and maintain wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting systems, and other electrical components. Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment. Read and interpret basic electrical and engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Inspect electrical connections, wiring, fuses, relays, sensors, and control systems. Carry out electrical installations and modifications on vehicles and automotive components. Test electrical systems after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety. Work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Auto Mechanics, Technicians, and Production teams. Apply practical engineering knowledge when diagnosing and resolving electrical faults. Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Ensure all work complies with engineering, quality, and HSE standards. Maintain electrical tools and workshop equipment in good working condition. Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, Trade Test, or Technical College qualification. Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably in automobile manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry. Strong practical knowledge of automotive electrical systems and engineering is required. Good knowledge of vehicle wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting, sensors, and electrical control systems. Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and engineering diagrams. Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of vehicle safety and electrical maintenance procedures. Physically fit, reliable, disciplined, and safety-conscious. Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other production personnel.
