Trade Zone Limited, a company operating in Lusaka, is seeking an experienced Furnace Operator to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties including preparing equipment and ensuring production settings are accurate, monitoring daily operation of machinery and adjusting settings as necessary, loading and unloading the furnace, and performing routine maintenance on equipment. Additional responsibilities include recording gauge readings, test results, and shift production in log books, reading work orders to determine work assignments, loading molds into the pre-heat ovens for cast, preparing furnaces for casting, and loading metal and flux into furnaces or clay crucibles.
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a Grade 12 Certificate and a Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Furnace operations or a related field. They should have at least 2 years of work experience in a gypsum plant or other industrial setting. The ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings is essential, as is proficiency with computers and software programs used for monitoring and controlling the plant furnace.
