JOB SUMMARY: Position Overview We are in urgent need of a proactive and seasoned professional to fill this critical role. Registered Water Engineer We are seeking a skilled professional to join our site team for a significant infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will oversee the complete implementation, management, and quality assurance of all water supply, sanitation, and fire-fighting systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not Exhaustive): Borehole & Pumping: Supervise the drilling, casing, and yield testing of a borehole measuring 70 meters in depth, and ensure the proper installation and commissioning of submersible pumps and starter panels. Elevated Storage: Oversee the complete fabrication and installation of a 15-meter-high steel tank stand, followed by the assembly and positioning of a 30-meter sectional steel tank. Reticulation: Oversee the installation and verification processes for PVC water supply networks, encompassing fire lines, as well as sewer drainage systems. Fire Systems: Responsible for the supervision and execution of the installation and commissioning processes for fire hydrants, hose reels, and their related valve chambers. Quality Control: Verify that all deliverables adhere to the Zambian Standards (ZWS), project-specific requirements, and approved design drawings. Management: Oversee and mentor site foremen and plumbing crews, while also evaluating shop drawings and material approvals. QUALIFICATIONS &
EXPERIENCE
: Mandatory: Must hold current registration with the relevant professional association or governing body. The Engineers Institution of Zambia (LIZ) is a professional regulatory body dedicated to advancing the engineering profession in the country. It sets and enforces standards for engineering practice, ensuring competence, ethics, and professionalism among its members. LIZ also provides continuous professional development opportunities to enhance the skills of practicing engineers. Additionally, it advocates for the engineering sector, promoting innovation and sustainable development within Zambia’s infrastructure and industries. Holding a currently valid and active professional license is required. Seek a Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or an equivalent field. Minimum 5 years Professional Experience in Water Supply and Sanitation Projects, ideally within a Construction Site environment, is required. With a strong track record in overseeing borehole drilling operations and the construction of elevated tank stands, the ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience to ensure project success. Proficient in fire fighting water reticulation systems, with a comprehensive understanding of their design, operation, and maintenance.
