Established in 2006 through Mastercard’s public company transition, the Foundation operates independently with its own Board of Directors and CEO, working alongside partners to empower 30 million young people—particularly young women—across Africa with access to quality education, financial services, and dignified employment. With in-country offices in Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Uganda, the Foundation collaborates with governments, private sector leaders, educators, and funders to strengthen education and vocational training, equip youth with workforce-ready skills, expand financial access for entrepreneurs, and connect jobseekers with meaningful opportunities. Additionally, this role will involve coaching junior staff, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining strategic relationships with global and in-country stakeholders. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in education, economics, youth development, or a related field, complemented by a relevant professional qualification and membership in a recognized professional body. - •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
