Medical Officers - Locum
Job Type: Contract, Full Time
Qualification: BA/BSc/HND
Job Field: Medical / Healthcare
Role Summary: Locum medical officer cover is required to sustain 24-hour clinical coverage across OPD and the wards - managing consultations, admissions, discharges and emergencies during periods of high patient volume, staff leave, CME and after hours/weekend shifts - without committing to additional permanent headcount.
Requirements:
Conduct patient consultations and physical examinations.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
Admit and discharge patients appropriately.
Order and interpret investigations.
Provide patient counselling and health education.
Participate in clinical audits and CME activities.
Respond to medical emergencies.
Education Level: MBChB degree.
Years of Experience: Minimum 1-2 years post-internship clinical experience.
Relevant Previous Roles: Medical Officer/Medical Officer Intern in a hospital OPD/IPD setting.
Any Other: Available for shift-based and on-call duty (nights, weekends, surge cover).
Required certifications, licenses or Registrations: Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), valid annual practising licence. BLS/ACLS certification an added advantage.
Core technical skills (Tools, software or methodologies required): Clinical diagnosis and management, emergency care and resuscitation, HMIS/EMR documentation, interpretation of laboratory and imaging results.
Nutritionist Locum

Role Summary: A locum Nutritionist is required to provide nutritional assessment, counselling and therapeutic diet planning for inpatients and outpatients, supporting multidisciplinary ward rounds and covering sessional demand without additional permanent headcount.
Requirements:
Conduct nutritional assessments.
Develop diet plans for inpatients and outpatients.
Provide dietary counselling.
Monitor malnutrition risks.
Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds.
Education Level: Degree / Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Years of Experience: Minimum 1-year clinical nutrition experience.
Relevant Previous Roles: Nutritionist/Dietitian in a hospital setting.
Any Other: Available for shift-based/ward-round duty.
Required certifications, licenses or Registrations: Registered with the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI); valid practising licence.
Core technical skills (Tools, software or methodologies required): Nutritional assessment (anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary), therapeutic diet planning, malnutrition screening, HMIS/EMR documentation.
Community Oral Health Officer Locum

Role Summary: A locum Community Oral Health Officer is required to provide basic oral health services - oral examinations, dental extractions, scaling and polishing, and simple restorations, plus oral health education - expanding dental service availability during clinic sessions and demand peaks without additional permanent headcount.
Requirements:
Conduct oral examinations and diagnose common oral/dental conditions within scope of practice.
Perform basic dental procedures - extractions, scaling and polishing, and temporary/permanent fillings.
Provide preventive oral health services (oral prophylaxis, fluoride application).
Deliver oral hygiene counselling and community oral health education.
Ensure sterilization and infection prevention & control compliance in the dental unit.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Refer complex cases to the Dentist appropriately.
Support dental screening camps and preventive dental programmes.
Education Level: Diploma in Community Oral Health.
Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in a clinical dental setting.
Relevant Previous Roles: Community Oral Health Officer in a hospital or clinic dental unit.
Any Other: Available for shift-based/clinic-session duty.
Required certifications, licenses or Registrations: Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC - Oral Health), valid annual practising licence.
