Family TV, the East and Central Africa's largest Christian television broadcaster and Kenya's most watched faith channel, is looking for a Play-out Technician to join our team. Family TV offers 24 hours of faith and inspirational programming that appeal to people in a wide variety of denominations. Founded in 1999, Family TV (Media) is a leader in Christian entertainment programming and one of the largest Christian broadcasters in the region.
This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya, and requires a Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecommunication Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the broadcast signal to ensure we always remain on air. Assist in creating playlists and packaging shows in a timely manner. Manage and verify content before it airs to ensure it is broadcast worthy. Upload and catalogue in-house aired TV shows on YouTube and Vimeo, and ensure content is correctly backed up on the server. Ensure there is always adequate power and fuel for generators. Maintain broadcast equipment and troubleshoot technical issues, including during live broadcasts. Schedule advertisements, logs, and mentions accurately as shared by the promotions team. Submit daily reports on tasks handled and equipment status to the General Manager. Report any work-related or technical issues promptly to the General Manager.
Profile Sought:
A minimum of a Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecommunication Engineering. Previous experience with playout automation systems and broadcasting technologies.
Required Skills:
Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues under pressure and during live broadcasts. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle live broadcast challenges.
