Denam Properties Limited, a real estate development company based in Abuja, Nigeria, established in 2017, specializes in property development, real estate investment, property sales, and facility management, with a focus on delivering high-quality homes and exceptional client experiences. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Gardener
Location: Abuja
Department: Facilities/Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager/Facilities Supervisor
Job Summary: The Gardener is responsible for maintaining DAL’s gardens, lawns, plants, and outdoor areas in a clean, attractive, healthy, and well-maintained condition. The role ensures that the property’s landscaping and green spaces consistently meet the company’s presentation and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other landscaped areas. Water plants and lawns as required. Mow, trim, edge, weed, and prune plants and lawns regularly. Plant, transplant, and maintain flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plants. Apply appropriate fertilizers, compost, and approved pest-control treatments when required. Remove dry leaves, weeds, branches, and other garden waste. Keep walkways, outdoor areas, and landscaped spaces neat and free from debris. Monitor plants for signs of disease, pests, or damage and report issues promptly. Operate and properly maintain gardening tools and equipment. Report damaged equipment, irrigation problems, or other maintenance issues. Assist with landscaping projects and improvement of outdoor spaces. Follow appropriate health, safety, and environmental practices. Ensure gardening activities do not inconvenience guests or disrupt property operations.

Landscaped Area Maintenance Compliance: ≥ 95% Gardening Schedule Compliance: 100% Lawn & Plant Health/Appearance: ≥ 95% Outdoor Cleanliness Score: ≥ 95% Equipment Maintenance Compliance: ≥ 95% Guest Landscaping Complaints: ≤ 2%
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of SSCE / OND or equivalent. Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, horticulture, or a similar role is preferred. Basic knowledge of plants, lawn care, and gardening tools.
Required Skills:
Good knowledge of gardening and landscaping techniques. Ability to operate basic gardening equipment. Plant care and maintenance skills. Attention to detail. Physical fitness and stamina. Good time management and organization. Reliability and ability to work independently. Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
Behavioural Expectations:
The Gardener is expected to demonstrate reliability, punctuality, care for company property, attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining DAL’s outdoor spaces to a high standard.
