The Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) is the apex private-sector organisation in Zambia, representing the interests of businesses across the country. Its membership comprises District and Provincial Chambers, Sector Associations, corporates and academia. ZACCI promotes private-sector development and works to create a conducive business environment through policy advocacy, business development, trade and investment promotion, research, networking, capacity building and stakeholder engagement.
The Opportunity
ZACCI is inviting applications from dynamic, motivated and results-oriented individuals for an internship opportunity as Membership Intern. The successful candidate will support the Membership Services function in strengthening relationships with existing members, recruiting new members, maintaining membership records and enhancing member engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Support the recruitment and onboarding of new ZACCI members.
Identify and engage prospective members.
Maintain and update the membership database.
Follow up on membership applications, renewals and subscriptions.
Communicate with existing and prospective members.
Support member visits and stakeholder engagements.
Conduct research to identify potential corporate members.
Support member retention and engagement initiatives.
Prepare membership reports and maintain accurate records.
Support the organisation of member meetings, networking events and business engagements.
Perform other membership-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
Be pursuing or have completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Commerce, Public Relations, Social Sciences or a related field.
Required Skills
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Have strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
Be confident in engaging with businesses and professionals.
Be computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
Have good organisational and administrative skills.
Demonstrate initiative, professionalism and attention to detail.
Be willing to learn and work in a dynamic private-sector environment.
