Job Summary Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Specialist, this position holds primary responsibility for supervising and integrating all operational activities within the Data Centre & Networks, Desktop, Laptops, and Print Services division. The successful candidate will collaborate as part of the IT Infrastructure Team, contributing to the support and administration of the organization’s nationwide IT infrastructure. Job Description Accountability: The role involves overseeing and managing End User Technology, Networks, Infrastructure, and Data Centre operations, accounting for 60% of the overall responsibilities. Outputs: Implement and enforce adherence to ABSA Group IT standards and procedures to maintain consistency and compliance across all operations. We provide ongoing assistance and oversee the maintenance of end-user and network infrastructure. Management of problem definition to resolution encompasses all aspects, including supplier liaison and the creation and monitoring of escalation procedures to ensure compliance. Develop comprehensive succession management plans, including the requisite training programs, to foster ongoing staff development and expansion while guaranteeing robust IT support that aligns with emerging technologies. Key responsibilities include performing system administration tasks, optimizing performance, and planning capacity to ensure the installation remains suitable for current and future developments, with a focus on evaluating and recommending necessary adjustments. Assess equipment needs and evaluate proposals for supplying, implementing, and developing new or existing services and systems. Stay abreast of emerging developments and advancements in the fields of information technology and information systems. The position entails delivering comprehensive assistance to IT Service and Support analysts, contributing specialized expertise to address intricate issues, as well as overseeing the installation, operation, and administration of servers and client systems.
