Forgotten Parks Foundation (FPF) recherche un Information Coordination Mentor pour soutenir l'équipe de sensibilisation situationnelle du paysage d'Upemba. Ce poste est essentiel pour transformer les observations dispersées des éco-gardes et des rangers en informations structurées et exploitables, afin d'établir une base de référence, d'identifier les tendances et de faciliter les interventions préventives.
Le parc national d'Upemba, d'une superficie d'environ 13 600 km², est une zone sauvage spectaculaire située dans la province du Katanga en République démocratique du Congo. Protégé depuis 1939, il est l'un des plus anciens parcs d'Afrique. L'Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature (ICCN) a signé un partenariat public-privé avec la Fondation Forgotten Parks, déléguant la responsabilité de gestion à la fondation pour les 15 prochaines années. Dans le cadre de cet accord, Forgotten Parks est responsable de la gestion, du suivi et de la protection d'Upemba, ainsi que du développement de mécanismes de financement durable pour couvrir les coûts de gestion courants.
Le mentor aura pour objectif principal de renforcer les capacités de l'équipe en matière de collecte, de synthèse et d'analyse d'informations, contribuant ainsi à une meilleure compréhension de la situation sécuritaire et écologique du paysage. Ce rôle est crucial pour soutenir la prise de décision et la planification des actions de conservation.
