Counselor

Key Responsibilities:
Provide Academic and Career Guidance to assist university students in choosing courses, managing academic challenges, and planning career paths.
Offer Personal and Social Counselling to support students with personal issues, stress, anxiety, and social integration within the campus environment.
Conduct Group Workshops and Seminars to organize programs on study skills, time management, mental health awareness, and leadership development.
Conflict Resolution and Mediation to facilitate resolution of conflicts among students, or between students and faculty, promoting a positive campus climate.
Maintain Confidential Records by keeping accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, interventions, and follow-ups.
Crisis Intervention and Referral to provide immediate support during student crises and refer complex cases to appropriate specialized professional services.
Required Profile:
Master's degree in Counselling Psychology (or a related field) required.
Ability to build trust, show empathy, and provide guidance to students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in student counselling, guidance, or a related educational support role.
Membership with a recognized professional counselling body (e.g., the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association – KCPA) required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Assistant Dean of Students (Main Campus)

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating student welfare and development programs.
Support the management of student discipline in accordance with university regulations.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to student leaders, clubs, and associations.
Liaise with academic departments, security, and external stakeholders on student-related matters.
Prepare reports and provide administrative support to the Dean of Students and any other duties assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Education, Counselling Psychology, Student Affairs, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Proven leadership, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.
Minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in student affairs, university administration, or student support services.
Membership with the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA) or a related guidance and counselling body is an added advantage.
At least two (2) years' experience as an Assistant Dean in an institution of higher learning.
