Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)

Job Responsibilities:

The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for managing and enforcing the Contractor’s safety program, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and requirements as outlined in EM 385-1-1 Section 1 and 29 CFR 1926.16. The SSHO also administers the government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan (APP). Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Serving as the onsite Site Safety and Health Officer to implement and administer the Contractor’s safety program and the approved Accident Prevention Plan (APP).

Being physically onsite at all times when work is being performed, ensuring safety requirements are adhered to in all operations.

Providing oversight and managing a team of at least one Competent Person at each project site who is trained and qualified to function as the SSHO.

Ensuring compliance with safety regulations under 29 CFR 1926.16, including site-specific requirements.

Ensuring all safety protocols, programs, and best practices meet the standards set forth in EM 385-1-1 Section 1 and its associated sub-paragraphs.

Completing the OSHA 30-hour construction safety course or an equivalent program and ensuring competency through 24 hours of formal safety and health training every four years.

Enforcing safety requirements on-site and ensuring compliance with applicable safety protocols and guidelines.

Identifying hazardous conditions, implementing preventive measures, and providing regular training to workers and subcontractors regarding safety standards.

Conducting regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with the Contractor’s safety program.

Promptly addressing safety discrepancies, violations, or unsafe conditions with corrective actions to prevent further risk.

Preparing and submitting safety records, incident reports, and performance-related documentation to ensure compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size and complexity.

Alternatively, three (3) years of experience required if possessing a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential or a degree in safety and health.

Successful completion of the OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety course (or an equivalent safety training program).

Active compliance with the requirement for 24 hours of formal safety and health coursework every four years to maintain competency under OSHA standards.

Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, particularly EM 385-1-1 Section 1, 29 CFR 1926.16, and associated interagency safety standards.

Skills Required:

Strong leadership and organizational skills to oversee the onsite implementation of the Safety Program and Accident Prevention Plan (APP).

Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively engage with government representatives, contractors, and personnel at all levels.

Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.

Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.

Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.

Waiter / Waitress

Job Responsibilities:

Take customer orders and deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately.

Anticipate customer needs, answer questions about menu items, and provide recommendations when needed.

Maintain composure and demonstrate tact while handling difficult or unpleasant situations with diplomacy.

Engine / Generator Mechanic

Job Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting the reliable operation of diesel, gasoline, or auxiliary power generator equipment.

Performing routine servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, belt adjustments, and component inspections. This includes diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, assisting with repairs or component replacements, and documenting maintenance actions in accordance with established procedures.

Additional duties include maintaining tools and work areas, adhering to safety and environmental regulations, assisting with load testing and operational checks, and supporting emergency power response as required. The Engine / Generator Mechanic contributes to mission-critical power and equipment readiness in a remote, team-oriented environment.

Required to comply with all occupational safety and health standards, rules, and orders applicable to their actions and conduct. The role demands consistent, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proactive reporting of workplace hazards, and total adherence to safety protocols to maintain a zero-injury environment.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

1–3 years of experience in engine maintenance, generator repair, or mechanical equipment support.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines, generator systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Marine Engine Mechanic

Job Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance, repair, overhaul, and preservation of gasoline and diesel marine engines, including two and four stroke outboard engines rated at 25 horsepower and above.

Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair marine propulsion systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, cargo pumps, valves, air compressors, welding equipment, and other marine mechanical components.

Perform preventive maintenance activities including lubricating, cleaning, servicing, inspecting, testing, and adjusting marine equipment to maximize operational readiness.

Utilize manual and computerized diagnostic equipment to identify equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions.

Repair or replace mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, ignition, lighting, warning, and fuel injection system components using appropriate hand and power tools.

Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.

Conduct annual inspections and ensure all assigned watercraft meet operational, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for marine vessels and waterfront equipment.

Assist in developing fleet maintenance procedures and employee training programs.

Perform structural repairs, including heavy body repairs, sub frame repairs, fiberglass restoration, and gelcoat repairs as required.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, repair documentation, and equipment histories.

Ensure marine operations comply with applicable U.S. Coast Guard regulations, OSHA standards, CFR requirements, hazardous material regulations, host nation requirements, and organizational policies.

Follow all environmental, health, safety, and quality procedures during the performance of assigned duties.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Marine Engine Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic specializing in marine propulsion systems.

Technical certification from an accredited mechanical or marine trade school.

Knowledge of gasoline and diesel internal combustion engines, including two stroke and four stroke marine engines.

Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and mechanical power transmission components.

Ability to diagnose and repair complex marine mechanical and electrical equipment.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings.

Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.

Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.

Valid country driver’s license.

Understanding of waste disposal procedures to maintain sanitation and minimize environmental impact.
