Site Operations Manager
Purpose
This dynamic position within Fraser Alexander Zambia entails leadership and oversight of paddock construction projects along the Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) perimeter. Responsibilities encompass comprehensive project management, from initiation to completion, with a strong emphasis on meeting deadlines and upholding stringent Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) standards. Key duties include team supervision, subcontractor coordination, strict enforcement of safety protocols, and ensuring superior workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Operate Site
Ensures complete oversight of all construction activities and operational processes at the site, guaranteeing strict adherence to quality and safety standards. Execute the construction plan. Collaborate effectively with the client’s TSF Manager to execute the deposition plan while coordinating the assigned resources and crew efficiently. Ensure full adherence to all job-specific requirements and regulations, overseeing compliance at every level. Effectively manage and optimize the allocation and scheduling of essential resources, including plant machinery, materials, and labor. Engage proactively with subcontractors to oversee their work and deliver consistent updates regarding status and advancement.
Maintain Safety
Ensure that projects and operations align with business and client SHE systems, as well as applicable legal requirements. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment while ensuring the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment. Ensure the safety and well-being of employees by proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards to prevent workplace injuries and other incidents. Implement corrective actions to address any deficiencies or non-compliant behaviors and environmental conditions.
Supervise Staff
Monitor and evaluate performance metrics and production goals to ensure alignment with established benchmarks and objectives. To guarantee that staff possess the necessary job competencies, identify any skill deficiencies, and arrange appropriate training programs to address these gaps.
Marketing and Client Relationship Management (CRM)
We are seeking a dynamic professional to oversee strategic marketing initiatives and cultivate robust client relationships to drive business growth. This role involves developing and executing innovative marketing campaigns, analyzing market trends, and leveraging CRM tools to enhance customer engagement and retention. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in marketing strategy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to foster long-term partnerships with key stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing digital marketing efforts, optimizing client interactions, and ensuring seamless communication across all touchpoints. Foster and enhance strong client relationships through consistent engagement and communication. Anticipate and meticulously document evolving client requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives. Ensure the consistent delivery of products and services meets or exceeds quality and quantity benchmarks, thereby guaranteeing client satisfaction. To enhance and uphold the company’s reputation and public perception.
Financial and Cost Control
Responsible for overseeing and regulating expenditures associated with personnel-related expenses and approved allowable amounts. Oversee and regulate expenditures associated with inventory and consumable items to ensure alignment with established budgets and cost allowances. Ensure that all invoices are submitted to clients promptly for payment processing. Responsibilities include reaching out to clients to ensure timely payment collection and managing the follow-up process to maintain financial compliance.
Qualifications
Holders of a Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate are eligible to apply. Candidates must possess a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in a related field. Strong communication skills and proficiency in both written and spoken English are essential requirements. Responsibilities include conducting thorough research, analyzing data, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the successful applicant will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards. Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering MRD 101 represents a valuable asset for candidates possessing this qualification.
Experience
With a minimum of eight years of focused experience in the construction of earthworks and tailings storage facilities, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of practical expertise to this role. Three years of prior experience in contracting supervision is required. Seasoned in developing and implementing TSF initiatives from inception to completion.
