CFAO Motors Kenya Limited (formerly Toyota Kenya) is the authorized distributor and service provider of Toyota, Yamaha, HINO and Suzuki brands in Kenya. Incorporated in 1997 as a subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC), the trading arm of Toyota Motor Corporation, we are committed to delivering excellence in automotive sales and service.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warranty Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Kenya, within the Engineering/Technical field.

Job Purpose

The Warranty Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that warranty processing is carried out in accordance with manufacturer policies and in a timely manner. Additionally, this role oversees the implementation of dealer standards and ISO standards in service processes, conducts aftersales process audits, and follows up on corrective actions to ensure compliance with set standards and PACI controls within the aftersales department.

Main Responsibilities

Managerial/Supervisory

  • Audit service processes on a sample basis and alert line managers about deviations from dealer standards, ISO standards, and PACI controls, sharing action plans for corrective action and following up on implementation.

  • Analyse warranty training needs for workshop staff and recommend or carry out the required training to ensure warranty procedures comply with manufacturer policies.

  • Check warranty repair orders in liaison with workshop supervisors to approve or reject claims based on warranty policies from manufacturers.

  • Apply KAIZEN within the work environment to improve quality and efficiency.

Operational Responsibilities

  • General organization of all workshops, as well as implementation and follow-up of all diagnostic systems in liaison with the IT department to ensure they are always serviceable and operational.

  • Ensure high overall efficiency of all workshops and maintain standards of service acceptable to our OEMs and customers.

  • Ensure that warranty claim procedures for Mercedes Benz, Suzuki, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Hino, and Sinotruk are adhered to by all workshops, including branches and dealers, and that all warranty claims are submitted to OEMs without delay, maintaining proper up-to-date records and ensuring warranty parts are stored according to OEM directives.

  • Ensure availability of Technical/Service literature for use by CFAO Mobility Multibrand & Equipment workshops.

  • Ensure that technical reports are duly prepared by the respective CFAO Mobility Multibrand Managers and Dealer workshops on technical defects for onward transmission to the respective OEMs.

  • Carry out regular surveys on warranty policies of competitors and report to Service Management.

  • Monitor implementation of minimum standards based on PACI/VW/SUZUKI/MERCEDES/HYUNDAI/SINOTRUK dealer standards in the Service department and all dealerships.

  • Prepare targets for each dealership and monitor performance against set targets.

  • Promote and maintain a harmonious working relationship between CFAO Mobility Multibrand & Equipment and all dealers.

  • Coordinate activities to ensure manufacturer campaigns are carried out and prepare monthly reports on manufacturer campaign completion status.

  • Understand and apply KAIZEN within the work environment.

  • Work in accordance with CFAO Mobility Multibrand & Equipment QHSE policies and guidelines.

  • Work in accordance with CFAO Mobility Multibrand & Equipment policies and procedures.

  • Keep a professional appearance.

Additional Responsibilities

Any other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role: Diploma in Automotive Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum level of experience required: 4 years relevant working experience in a similar role.
