You would be responsible for fulfilling the following duties and tasks: To formulate and implement the Country Training Strategy, you must demonstrate clear ownership of the process, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and local requirements. Responsibilities include developing tailored training programs, monitoring progress, and ensuring sustainable knowledge transfer within the country context. Develop and oversee Zambia’s annual training plan and strategy, ensuring alignment with country sales targets, product launches, seasonality, and regional training priorities. Develop and implement country-level training initiatives in alignment with regional and headquarters-established strategies across all markets and regions. Establish and uphold nationwide benchmarks governing onboarding protocols, certification processes, refresher training, demonstration quality, pitch delivery, load calculations, and objection handling techniques. Develop and oversee the national implementation of the blended-learning approach, encompassing classroom instruction, field coaching, microlearning modules, and LMS-based content delivery. Direct reports, including Zonal Training Managers and Regional Mentors, are led, coached, and performance-managed, with monthly one-to-one sessions conducted, and a dated coaching log maintained to track progress. Conduct and manage train-the-trainer sessions and calibration processes to ensure uniformity in facilitation, product knowledge, and coaching standards across the team. Develop documented growth strategies for each underperforming team member on a quarterly basis, and as the organization expands, engage in the recruitment, integration, and professional development of training staff. Country Performance & KPI Delivery Responsibilities include tracking, analyzing, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance country-level performance. This role requires the development of performance dashboards, conducting in-depth data analysis, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making. Additionally, the position entails setting measurable goals, monitoring progress against targets, and identifying trends or opportunities for improvement. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data visualization tools, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly are essential. You will be responsible for country-level accountability regarding reactivation rates, certified-agent conversion, face-to-face coverage, quality standards, and job-knowledge benchmarks, ensuring that all regions and lines achieve these objectives. Conduct country business reviews and perform spot-checks to identify underperforming regions and teams, enabling early diagnosis and corrective action. Responsibilities encompass leading team execution, ensuring data quality assurance, and upholding field discipline through consistent adherence to field application protocols, maintaining a balanced field-time ratio, and conducting periodic quality spot-checks on reported activities. Data, Analytics, and Reporting entails the strategic collection, analysis, and dissemination of data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive organizational performance. This role encompasses the development and maintenance of robust reporting frameworks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of data outputs. Responsibilities include designing and implementing analytical models, generating actionable reports, and leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities. The position requires proficiency in data visualization, statistical analysis, and business intelligence platforms, along with a strong understanding of data governance and compliance standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align reporting initiatives with business objectives and stakeholder needs. Oversee the development and management of the country training dashboards, including Looker, Nazi Plan, and Litmus, leveraging the data to identify performance gaps and strategically allocate team resources. Prepare and submit a monthly country training dashboard to the Regional Training Manager, and conduct quarterly training needs assessments utilizing sales, repayment, and customer-complaint data. Analyze the correlation between training cohorts and key business outcomes, including sales growth, enhanced collection scores, reduced return rates, and improved customer retention. 5. Strategic Commercial Enablement Responsibilities include owning one to two quarterly strategic objectives that are delegated from the regional training manager, with a direct link to the country’s primary commercial performance indicator, such as collections. Additionally, you will be expected to break down these key results into measurable targets for the zonal training manager and regional mentor scorecards. Collaborate closely with country commercial managers, zonal and regional business managers, and area business managers to identify skill deficiencies hindering revenue growth, then develop and implement tailored interventions aimed at improving the performance of underperforming teams. Conduct advanced certification and sales workshops focused on key commercial subjects, such as product cards and conversion strategies. Experienced professionals who excel in collaborative environments and demonstrate the ability to lead diverse teams across departments are encouraged to apply. As a member of the country management team, you will serve as the training representative, collaborating closely with Sales, Risk, Operations, Programs, and Marketing to ensure training initiatives are fully aligned with the commercial strategy. Provide actionable field insights to regional and corporate product and marketing teams by identifying and communicating customer confusion points as well as product feedback. A suitable applicant would likely possess the following qualifications: With a minimum of six years of experience in sales training, learning and development (L&D), or sales management—including at least three years in leadership roles managing teams (preferably encompassing other managers or trainers)—applicants should possess a background in industries such as solar, electronics, telecoms, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or agent distribution businesses. Demonstrated success in developing and executing training programs that significantly improved sales performance at either the country or regional level, beyond merely increasing attendance figures. Experienced in overseeing complex, multi-tiered field teams spanning a single country or multiple regions, with a proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes through leadership and strategic direction. Demonstrated expertise in Solar Home Systems, including inverters where applicable, coupled with proficiency in conducting demonstrations and performing basic troubleshooting tasks. Proficient in data analysis and experienced with Learning Management Systems (LMS), business intelligence tools such as Looker, and customer relationship management (CRM) or field applications. Demonstrates strong commercial awareness by developing training strategies aligned with business objectives and implementing them through structured team scorecards. Open to travel extensively throughout Zambia, accounting for 60-70% or more of the role. Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in one of Zambia’s indigenous languages—such as Bemba, Ninja, Tonga, or Loki—being highly advantageous. A bachelor’s degree is mandatory; additional certifications in training, facilitation, or instructional design are highly advantageous.
