The institute stands on 45 acres of land, with a history dating back to 1949 when it started as a vocational training center for former World War II servicemen, later elevated to a technical high school.

Profile: Bachelor of Education Degree in Automotive Engineering or Bachelor of Education in Technical Education Degree from a recognized institution, or Bachelor's degree / Higher National Diploma in Automotive Engineering or Equivalent and Relevant Qualification, and a Diploma in Education or an Advanced Diploma in Education / Diploma in Technical Trainer Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized Institution. Must be Licensed by TVET Authority or meet the requirement for licensing by WETA.

Agricultural Engineering Trainer - 1 Post Job Type: Contract, Full Time Qualification: BA/BSc/HND, Diploma Location: Thika Job Field: Agriculture / Agro-Allied, Education / Teaching / Training Terms of Service: 3-Month Contract. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Education Degree in Agricultural Engineering or Bachelor of Education in Technical Education Degree from a recognized institution, or Bachelor's degree / Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering or Equivalent and Relevant Qualification, and a Diploma in Education or an Advanced Diploma in Education / Diploma in Technical Trainer Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized Institution. Must be Licensed by TVET Authority or meet the requirement for licensing by WETA.

Biomedical Engineering Trainer - 1 Post Job Type: Contract, Full Time Qualification: BA/BSc/HND, Diploma Experience: 2 years Location: Thika Job Field: Education / Teaching / Training, Engineering / Technical Terms of Service: 3-Month Contract. Salary as per the existing Thika Technical Training Institute Terms of Service (TTTI/BOG/EEE/T/03/08/2026).
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Medical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering. At least 2 years' technical training experience. Registered with a professional body (EBK/KETRB/AMEK). Licensed by TVET Authority or meet the requirement for licensing by WETA. Field/clinical experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Hospitality and Tourism Trainer - 2 Posts Job Type: Contract, Full Time Qualification: BA/BSc/HND, Diploma Location: Thika Job Field: Education / Teaching / Training, Food, Beverage and Hospitality Terms of Service: 3-Month Contract. Salary as per the existing Thika Technical Training Institute Terms of Service (TTTI/BOG/HTrr/03/08/2026).
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, or Equivalent Qualification from a recognized institution. Diploma in Catering and Accommodation will be an added advantage. Licensed by TVET Authority or meet the requirement for licensing by WETA.
