About the role: Our client is in search of a seasoned Senior Land Surveyor to deliver expert technical guidance and precise surveying assistance for construction, earthworks, and infrastructure projects. The chosen professional will be responsible for establishing survey controls, laying out works, performing topographical and as-built surveys, and verifying compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and specified tolerances. Key Responsibilities: Create and uphold survey control points, benchmarks, and reference systems, ensuring their accuracy and reliability throughout their implementation and use. Perform setting-out procedures for earthworks, roads, drainage systems, buildings, and related infrastructure. Perform comprehensive topographical, dimensional, and as-built surveys, then compile precise survey reports based on the collected data. Analyze and comprehend engineering drawings, designs, and construction specifications with precision. Conduct volume and quantity assessments, encompassing cut-and-fill evaluations. Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to specified design coordinates, levels, and tolerances. Ensure survey records, field data, and related documentation are meticulously maintained and kept current. Collaborate effectively with engineering staff, project managers, supervisors, and construction crews to ensure seamless project execution. Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior survey team members. Ensure that all surveying activities adhere strictly to the project’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols as well as applicable quality standards. Minimum Requirements: A qualification in Land Surveying, Aromatics, or a closely related field, whether obtained through a degree or diploma program, is required. A minimum of eight to ten years of hands-on professional experience, ideally gained in the mining, construction, or large-scale civil projects sectors. Demonstrates exceptional skill and experience in operating Total Stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and other advanced surveying equipment. Proficient in utilizing pertinent surveying tools and computer-aided design (CAD) software. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of construction drawings, survey controls, earthworks, and setting-out methodologies. Proven capability to autonomously manage and oversee surveying operations within rigorous project conditions.
