Responsabilités

Job purpose Duties include delivering instructional lectures, performing scholarly investigations, and completing other scholarly duties pertinent to the designated academic discipline. Key responsibilities Create engaging and informative course materials such as lectures, assignments, and exams, ensuring they are effectively delivered to learners. Develop and revise syllabi in alignment with institutional policies to ensure ongoing alignment with field advancements. Evaluate student performance by grading assignments, examinations, and academic papers, and deliver detailed, actionable feedback to support their development. Original research will be carried out in the designated field of expertise, with results disseminated through scholarly publications in academic journals, academic monographs, or conference proceedings. Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students to support their educational development and success. Schedule dedicated time slots for student consultations on a consistent basis. Provide students with support in career planning and professional growth initiatives. Foster meaningful connections with the broader community by delivering public service initiatives, hosting educational lectures, conducting interactive workshops, and participating in outreach programs. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with industry leaders, governmental bodies, and academic institutions to enhance mutual growth and innovation. Provide expert consultancy services to external organizations and individuals in alignment with the University’s established Consultancy Policy. Qualifications and experience Revised: Possession of a Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five credits, one of which must be in English, is required. A Bachelor of Laws degree, achieved with at least a credit classification, is required. A Master of Laws degree in Public Law, conferred by an accredited institution, is required for this position. A Doctoral degree (PhD or LLD) in Public Law is required. Hold a degree or certification in Teaching Methodology. For this Senior Lecturer role, candidates must have successfully supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion in the capacity of principal supervisor. Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) years of university or research institute teaching experience to be eligible for a Senior Lecturer position. For the Lecturer I level, a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience is required. For consideration at the Senior Lecturer level, a minimum of ten (10) peer-reviewed publications in esteemed journals within the relevant field of specialization is required. Alternatively, a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed publications is necessary for consideration at the Lecturer I level. Demonstrated commitment to and impact on public service initiatives is required. Associate of the Law Association of Zambia. Competencies Proven expertise and comprehensive understanding of the relevant field are essential for this role. Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and the ability to effectively resolve complex issues are essential for success in this role. The position requires exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong aptitude for networking, enabling the successful candidate to establish and nurture professional relationships effectively. Skilled in conveying information clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, while maintaining a high level of precision and accuracy. Proficient in maintaining high productivity and performance standards while operating under stringent time constraints and meeting critical deadlines. Demonstrates creativity and self-motivation with the capacity to operate effectively with minimal oversight.
