This role is designed to ensure accurate financial record-keeping, generate insightful financial reports, and oversee credit control, premium allocation, and other critical duties. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, the incumbent will maintain a premium register, ensure precise ERP system postings within stipulated timelines, process requisitions via EFT, and strictly adhere to approved budgets. Timely bank reconciliations are mandatory, with all discrepancies resolved promptly—ideally within 30 days. Commissions must be disbursed within seven days, while claims processing, approval, and payment should be finalized within ten days. The position also entails managing the fixed asset register, capitalizing assets, calculating depreciation, and closing ERP modules at month-end, including Cash, Purchasing, Stores, and Accounts Payable. Additional responsibilities include resolving debtor disputes, following up on outstanding premiums, ensuring bank credits are receipted and allocated, pursuing underwriters for unresolved debits, processing premium refunds, preparing debtor reports, and issuing statements to intermediaries. The role involves leading Credit Control Committee meetings, conducting general ledger account analyses, and mitigating fraud by meticulously reviewing commission requests, claim payments, and expense approvals. During audits, the incumbent will provide essential schedules to auditors. Qualifications & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field—or an equivalent qualification—along with progression toward CPA or ARCA certification, is required. Candidates must possess at least three years of relevant experience in a comparable role, with proficiency in computerized accounting systems, particularly ERP, serving as a strong advantage.
