The Rwanda Ministry of Health (MOH) and Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), through the Malaria and Other Parasitic Diseases Division (MOPED), acknowledge that maintaining progress in malaria control and advancing toward elimination necessitates a robust implementation of Integrated Vector Management (IVM). IVM represents a holistic, evidence-based strategy that integrates vector control measures, environmental management, community engagement, and multisectoral collaboration to effectively reduce malaria transmission. Current training resources must be revised and enhanced to align with updated technical guidance, the Rwanda Malaria Strategic Plan (NSP) 2027–2030, and adult learning principles, while ensuring the materials remain accessible and pertinent to local communities. To facilitate the execution of community-based IVM interventions, standardized, contextually adapted training materials are required to build the capacity of Community Health Workers (CHWs), community leaders, local authorities, and other stakeholders engaged in malaria prevention and vector control. Under the RISE Malaria Project, in collaboration with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), Diego seeks to engage a skilled Consultant to review and update a comprehensive IVM training package, consisting of the following components: a revision of existing national IVM training manuals (for facilitators and participants) and communication materials; an audiovisual training package in Kinyarwanda designed to enhance community learning and engagement; and an illustrated IVM training booklet featuring diagrams, simplified technical content, tables, and visual aids to support community training and supervision. These materials will support the delivery of high-quality, standardized community education on IVM in malaria hotspot regions, fostering greater community participation and advancing Rwanda’s malaria elimination goals.
