Fluor Corporation, an American multinational engineering and construction firm headquartered in Irving, Texas, is seeking an Equipment Operator Foreman (Tier 2) for its Manda Bay location. This is a full-time position requiring a Diploma or KCSE qualification.
As an Equipment Operator Foreman, you will lead a team of Equipment Operators and perform work as an Equipment Operator when needed. Your responsibilities include allocating equipment and personnel based on project priorities, communicating effectively with clients, project personnel, and team members, and coordinating proper maintenance and repair of assigned equipment.
You will ensure safe work practices and compliance with safety requirements at all times. You will complete all necessary administrative requirements and perform duties of subordinate personnel as required. You will operate light, medium, and some heavy equipment, as well as light to heavy duty trucks. You will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to project construction, operations, and maintenance activities.
You may operate single axle dump trucks, dual axle dump trucks with automatic and manual transmissions, loaders, rollers, compactors, tractors, sprayers, sweepers, plows, forklifts, backhoes, and related equipment. You will check equipment condition and report major mechanical issues, performing minor or emergency repairs if needed. You may train less skilled workers in operation and care of equipment, and perform manual labor or other duties as necessary. Other duties may be assigned.
The basic job requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and four (4) to seven (7) years of related experience. Other job requirements include the job knowledge, skill level, and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions. To ensure compliance with safety, health, and security requirements in the contract, you must possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions. You must be certified and able to operate.
