This role involves underwriting and processing medical business in strict adherence to company policies, applying standard rates, calculating premiums, and assessing new, renewal, and endorsement cases, as well as cancellations. The position requires preparing timely renewal terms for corporate clients, ensuring proactive follow-ups to secure renewals, and issuing premium invoices while enforcing credit policies to guarantee prompt collections. Responsibilities include tracking debt recovery, maintaining accurate benefit setups and membership records, and delivering scheme performance reports in line with SLAs for clients and intermediaries, including participation in scheduled review meetings. You will also oversee adherence to underwriting operational systems and procedures, supervise Underwriting Assistants to uphold service quality and efficiency, and collaborate closely with field marketing staff, agents, and brokers to cultivate and sustain strong business relationships. Acting as a liaison with brokers, agents, and direct clients, you’ll verify information, clarify coverage details, and prepare comprehensive member guides and underwriting summaries. Additional duties include generating utilization reports, member statements, and loss ratio trend analyses, while ensuring full compliance with service standards and the Customer Service Charter throughout all underwriting activities. This role demands strict enforcement of the no-credit policy, proactive premium collection to maintain up-to-date section accounts, and the application of consultative selling techniques, customer complaint and feedback management, and CRM software proficiency. Strong competencies in customer service operations, data management, digital consumer engagement, and sales opportunity identification are essential, along with the ability to ask probing questions, manage sales data, strengthen customer relationships, and identify upselling prospects. Key personnel attributes include action orientation, effective communication, customer focus, sound decision-making, accountability, trustworthiness, and interpersonal savvy, alongside a commitment to continuous learning.
