Our operations are expanding through carbon-financed bamboo farms in Nicaragua, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, and the Philippines. Our initiatives address three critical environmental challenges: mitigating climate change, restoring degraded landscapes, and providing sustainable alternatives to deforestation-driven consumer markets. In Rwanda, our projects deliver environmental solutions that protect watersheds through riparian plantings and expand habitats for endangered Mountain Gorillas. We are searching for an accomplished Operations Manager to oversee the execution of Eco Planet Bamboo’s Annual Planting and Operations Plan across our Rwanda districts. This field-intensive leadership role demands operational rigor, hands-on field engagement, and strict adherence to the POLE management framework (Planning, Organizing, Leading, Controlling) to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and compliance. Based in Kigali, the position requires a minimum of three days per week in the field, rotating across all 13 districts, with daily morning briefings with Supervisors. You will lead three Supervisors who oversee 31 Technicians, while collaborating closely with technical teams, nursery staff, and corporate support functions. Key Responsibilities: – Operational Planning & Execution: Convert the Annual Planting & Operations Plan into actionable daily, weekly, and monthly schedules; distribute structured weekly work plans with measurable targets by activity, compartment, and workforce; ensure timely availability of tools, plants, fertilizers, water, equipment, and vehicles; set and enforce productivity and quality benchmarks; optimize labor allocation across permanent, seasonal, and contracted staff; manage nurseries to meet performance standards for plant quality and on-time delivery. – Field Management, Quality Control & Compliance: Maintain a consistent in-field presence to enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), silvicultural, environmental, and FSC standards; conduct systematic, randomized audits at the compartment level across all districts; monitor operational performance weekly and initiate corrective measures; enforce accountability for repeated non-compliance, quality deficiencies, or safety violations. – SOP Ownership & Continuous Improvement: Embed SOPs into daily field operations; lead SOP refinement based on audit findings, operational
