Mombasa County Public Service Board is recruiting for the position of Registered Nurse III (286 posts) on a full-time basis. This is a medical and healthcare role based in Mombasa County, Kenya.
About Mombasa County: Mombasa County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya. Its capital and the only city in the county is Mombasa. Initially it was one of the former districts of Kenya, but in 2013 it was reconstituted as a county on the same boundaries. It is the smallest county in Kenya, covering an area of 229.7 km² excluding 65 km² of water mass.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient outcomes. Duties include providing appropriate healthcare services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care and delivery, providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs, referring patients and clients appropriately, facilitating patient admission and initiating discharge plans, maintaining records on patients/clients' health condition and care, ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment, and collecting and compiling data.
Qualifications: For appointment to this grade, an officer must have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution. Additionally, candidates must have a Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya, a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya, and a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
