UN Women, guided by the Charter of the United Nations’ commitment to equality, advances gender parity by eliminating discrimination against women and girls, empowering them as equal partners and beneficiaries in development, human rights, humanitarian action, and peace building. A key priority is women’s economic empowerment, recognizing that women’s full participation in economic life is vital for inclusive growth, poverty reduction, social justice, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through its Women and the World of Work portfolio, UN Women collaborates with governments and partners to build an enabling environment where women entrepreneurs can establish, sustain, grow, innovate, and compete in local, regional, and global markets. Rwanda has made notable strides in advancing gender equality and fostering women’s economic participation, with women comprising a significant portion of entrepreneurs—particularly in the MSME sector, which is pivotal to job creation and economic transformation. However, persistent barriers continue to hinder women-owned businesses, including limited access to affordable financing, business development services, innovation ecosystems, digital tools, formal networks, mentorship, market information, and high-value supply chains. The disproportionate share of unpaid care and domestic work further restricts women’s time, mobility, and capacity to invest in enterprise growth. These challenges are especially pronounced in emerging sectors such as agribusiness, climate-smart agriculture, health technology, the care economy, creative industries, and digital entrepreneurship—areas with substantial potential for job creation, innovation, and economic progress but where women remain underrepresented. To address these obstacles, UN Women Rwanda is implementing the WE-Collab Hub Project, a pioneering initiative aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem for women-led MSMEs by enhancing access to skills development, business support, mentorship, innovation, networking, financial inclusion, and market linkages. The project is designed to empower women entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge to build resilient, competitive, and growth-oriented enterprises capable of driving employment and contributing to Rwanda’s inclusive economic development. As part of this effort, UN Women will conduct an Entrepreneurship Capacity Building Training for women entrepreneurs participating in the WE-Collab Hub. The training will strengthen their business management acumen, financial literacy, digital and innovation capabilities, business formalization, marketing strategies, and growth planning while fostering peer learning and networking. To deliver this training effectively, UN Women is seeking a skilled Facilitator with proven expertise in entrepreneurship development, adult learning methodologies, and women-led enterprise growth to design and

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
