Location Lusaka, Zambia – 10101 Job role The Senior ICT Specialist will oversee and direct the technology infrastructure that underpins the organization’s commercial activities, encompassing retail outlets, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. This position is tasked with guaranteeing the reliability, performance, security, and ongoing enhancement of these mission-critical systems, while facilitating the seamless launch of new stores and ensuring dependable ICT services across all retail operations. Collaboration with business stakeholders is essential to streamline commercial processes, enhance operational effectiveness, and ensure technology solutions are fully aligned with the organization’s strategic goals. Core Duties & Essential Performance Indicators This role encompasses a range of critical duties designed to drive organizational success, with measurable benchmarks to evaluate effectiveness. Key responsibilities include [insert specific duties, e.g., “leading cross-functional teams,” “developing strategic initiatives,” or “managing client relationships”], all of which are integral to achieving predefined targets. Critical success measures, such as [insert metrics, e.g., “revenue growth,” “project completion rates,” or “customer satisfaction scores”], will serve as the primary indicators of performance. Excellence in these areas will directly contribute to the overall objectives of the department and the company. Oversee the administration, support, and ongoing enhancement of the organization’s ERP systems, which include Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Evolution, and their associated modules. Oversee and maintain all commercial ICT systems to guarantee high availability, reliability, and peak performance throughout retail operations. Orchestrate the seamless execution of ICT requirements for new store launches, relocations, and retail technology implementations. Administer Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and Microsoft 365 services to maintain secure identity, access, and cloud resource management. Develop, implement, and sustain Microsoft Power Platform solutions aimed at automating business processes and enhancing operational efficiency. Create and uphold SQL-based queries, reports, and database solutions that bolster business operations, reporting, and system integrations. Drive and contribute to ICT initiatives, encompassing ERP implementations, system upgrades, enhancements, and digital transformation projects. Oversee ICT budget allocations, vendor relationships, and third-party service provider engagements to guarantee that projects and services are executed within defined parameters, allocated budgets, and agreed-upon service level agreements. Ensure that all business systems adhere to ICT governance frameworks, cybersecurity protocols, business continuity mandates, and applicable regulatory requirements. Offer expert technical guidance, coaching, and assistance to ICT team members while cultivating robust partnerships with business stakeholders to implement technology solutions that align with organizational goals. Must have skills Required is prior hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Experienced in crafting SQL scripts and overseeing Microsoft SQL Server databases. Proficiency in Azure cloud technologies and integration services is required. Project management skills Having prior experience with Sage Evolution would be beneficial. Power Apps & Power Automate: Design and implementation of bespoke applications and automated workflows Good to have skills Proficiency in Sage Evolution and Sage VIP will be considered advantageous. Qualifications Earned a bachelor’s degree and possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in the IT field. Professional certifications such as Compton IT Fundamentals+, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, and Azure Data Engineer Associate, among others, will be considered advantageous.
