About The Youth Platform The Youth Platform (TOP) serves as a regional, youth-led network dedicated to elevating young voices, fostering resilient youth movements, and advancing substantive youth engagement in social, economic, and political development initiatives. Through advocacy, leadership cultivation, community involvement, and youth empowerment initiatives, TOP strives to guarantee that adolescents and young people are visible, listened to, safeguarded, and integrated into spaces where decisions are made. The role The IT Personnel volunteer will deliver technical assistance, uphold office system functionality, and oversee the secure and efficient operation of technology throughout the organization. This active position suits individuals who take satisfaction in maintaining both user and system performance—while also offering a valuable opportunity to develop practical IT expertise. What you’ll do 01 Technical support Address and resolve technical support requests from staff, diagnosing and rectifying hardware and software malfunctions. Deliver comprehensive audiovisual assistance for conferences, seminars, and other scheduled gatherings. 02 Network & systems Oversee the administration of the Local Area Network (LAN), wireless network infrastructure, routers, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) systems. Oversee the administration, monitoring, and upkeep of the organization’s internal systems, such as email infrastructure, data backup solutions, and shared drive networks. Regularly perform system backups and maintain robust recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in the event of system failures. 03 Software & hardware Install and update systems and software while overseeing license management to ensure compliance and optimal functionality. Install and configure new workstations while managing the IT asset inventory to ensure accurate tracking and availability of hardware and software resources. Collaborate with external suppliers to facilitate the acquisition of materials and coordinate repair services as needed. 04 Security Enhance system security by deploying antivirus solutions, configuring firewalls, and establishing robust access controls to safeguard organizational assets. Vigilantly assess potential cyber threats to safeguard critical organizational data and assets. 05 Planning Provide strategic guidance to management regarding enhancements to IT infrastructure and systems. Verify that all office equipment operates correctly and remains in optimal condition. Who we’re looking for The ideal volunteer Seeking candidates who are pursuing or have attained a qualification in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or a related discipline—such as a certificate, diploma, or degree—or possess equivalent practical experience in the field. Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving technical issues across Windows operating systems, widely-used software applications, multifunction printers, and audiovisual (AV) equipment. Proficient in networking technologies, including LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, and VPNs, as well as foundational cybersecurity practices such as antivirus deployment, firewall configuration, data backups, and access control mechanisms. Dependable and self-motivated, with a proven ability to thrive in independent work environments requiring minimal oversight. Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to maintain composure while aiding colleagues with limited technical expertise. Based in Coma or possessing the ability to consistently perform on-site duties at this location.
