The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) is an autonomous international organization established for scientific, educational, developmental, and humanitarian purposes with a vision of safer communities and sustainable development through disaster risk reduction and climate resilience in Asia and the Pacific.

Expérience

Established in 1986 as a technical capacity-building center, ADPC has grown and diversified its expertise across social and physical sciences to support sustainable solutions for risk reduction across a broad range of specialist areas, with over 63 staff from 17 different nationalities and a wide range of professional expertise from atmospheric scientists to social scientists with experiences from all levels of engagement typically required for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Resilience (CR) effectively. ADPC works across fifteen thrust areas and three cross- cutting themes: Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, Disaster and Climate Innovation, and Regional and Transboundary Cooperation under three departments named Preparedness and Climate Actions, Risk Governance, Financing and Risk Analytics and Climate Services. ADPC Strategy 2030 guides the organization in providing comprehensive risk reduction support to countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific. ADPC recognizes the importance of examining the linkages between disaster risk management, poverty reduction, gender equality, sustainability, rights-based approaches, climate change, and regional cooperation. Expert Application Advice

When tailoring your CV for NGO, don’t just list tasks—show how you met les compétences demandées dans l'annonce with a concrete result. Use numbers: “reduced turnover by 15%” or “trained 30 staff.” This proves your impact, not just duties.

International NGO — NGO recruiters read your cover letter to assess your understanding of the humanitarian mission, not just technical skills. Show you know the country field context and the specific challenges of this sector.

Recruiting and L&D — Cite challenging positions you filled and training programs you designed with completion rates. An HR certification (CHRP, CIPD) significantly strengthens your profile.

  • •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
