We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Conservation Specialist to join our team in Rusizi, Rwanda. As a Marine Conservation Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing conservation strategies to protect Rwanda’s marine ecosystem. Job Overview The Marine Conservation Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing conservation strategies to protect Rwanda’s marine ecosystem. This will involve working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to identify and address key threats to marine biodiversity. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marine conservation and a proven track record of developing and implementing effective conservation strategies. They will be an excellent communicator and team player, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement conservation strategies to protect Rwanda’s marine ecosystem Work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to identify and address key threats to marine biodiversity Conduct research and monitoring to inform conservation efforts Develop and manage budgets and reports Collaborate with other teams to achieve organizational goals Required Skills Strong background in marine conservation Proven track record of developing and implementing effective conservation strategies Excellent communication and team player skills Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Education Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as marine biology, conservation biology, or environmental science. Experience At least 5 years of experience in marine conservation, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective conservation strategies. Salary 800,000 – 1,200,000 SSP per year, depending on experience.
