About the role: We seek a Scholarship & Communications Coordinator to assist CBM’s Inclusive Health Initiative (HI). This position involves overseeing communications strategies across HI programs and partnerships, as well as managing scholarship programs from start to finish. Collaboration with universities, training institutions, government stakeholders, partners, and CBM teams will be essential to enhance cooperation, convey program impact, and guarantee the successful execution of scholarship activities. One of CBM’s permanently established offices—including locations in Nairobi (Kenya), Abuja (Nigeria), Lomé (Togo), Yaoundé (Cameroon), Lusaka (Zambia), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Kampala (Uganda), Niamey (Niger), among others—will be the base for this role. This role is exclusively available for local candidates, subject to the contractual terms of the relevant country. Expatriation is not part of this role’s scope. You Will: Oversee the formulation and implementation of the Inclusive Health Initiative’s communications strategy in alignment with its programs and partnerships. Assist teams in disseminating program achievements, success narratives, and essential updates both internally within the organization and externally to stakeholders. Develop a range of program communications deliverables, such as case studies, social media content, website articles, and internal publications. Assist internal teams in crafting and refining strategic thought leadership content and external publications. Coordinate the entire scholarship process, overseeing all stages from application handling and selection procedures to trainee onboarding, document processing, and correspondence with both recipients and educational institutions. Act as the primary administrative and communication conduit between CBM teams, academic institutions, collaborators, and governmental stakeholders. Accurately maintain comprehensive records encompassing scholarship databases, contractual agreements, academic progress tracking, and financial documentation. These are your qualifications A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International Development, or a related discipline is required. With a minimum of seven years of experience in communications, ideally gained within international development, innovation, health, or entrepreneurship ecosystems, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in these sectors. Experienced in overseeing and coordinating communications deliverables and initiatives. Accomplished editorial and writing capabilities, demonstrated through the creation of polished, professional external communications. Candidates should have a proven track record in overseeing communications for collaborative initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, with a preference for those with expertise in scholarship or educational programs. Proficiency in leveraging digital communications platforms, social media channels, and content creation tools is required. Demonstrated capacity to operate autonomously and in team settings within diverse, multicultural contexts. Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken English is required. Demonstrated dedication to fostering an inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities and upholding safeguarding standards.
