Lead Librarian

Job Purpose
The Lead Librarian will spearhead the strategic leadership and operational management of the University Library, guaranteeing the provision of exceptional library and information services that advance teaching, learning, research, and innovation for students and faculty alike. This role entails supervising the evolution, organization, and administration of library assets, services, technologies, and staff to ensure seamless access to information, foster academic distinction, and uphold institutional and professional benchmarks.
Qualifications
Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or Library and Information Systems from an accredited institution of higher education. A master’s degree in library and information science or library and information systems from a reputable institution is required. A Doctorate Degree in Library and Information Science or Library and Information Systems would be advantageous.
Experience
With a minimum of five years of professional experience in a Senior Librarian role or an equivalent senior library management position. A minimum of five peer-reviewed publications in esteemed academic journals within the relevant field of specialization is required. Proven expertise in overseeing academic library services, digital library resources, and staff management is required. Demonstrated expertise in leadership, administration, and strategic planning within a higher education setting.
