Private Banking Portfolio Monitoring Manager (1 Position(s)) Job Location : Head Office, Hq Job Purpose: To enhance and sustain the quality of the asset portfolio, the role involves ensuring prompt resolution of audit issues and meticulous loan documentation. Additionally, the position requires close collaboration with other departments to support customer engagement platforms and coordinate events with key stakeholders. Main Responsibilities: Spearhead efforts to uphold the Private Banking department’s credit portfolio integrity by maintaining acceptable PAR and NPL levels, ensuring prompt resolution of audit findings, and enforcing rigorous loan documentation standards—all through proactive collaboration with branch, zone, and Head Office teams. From time to time, provide strategic guidance to the Head of Private Banking on all facets of departmental risk management development to ensure comprehensive awareness among team members. Provide strategic leadership by advising the Head of Private Banking on innovative monitoring approaches for Private schemes, executive loans, and other unsecured lending products. This role will expand the portfolio’s scope while enhancing the bank’s reach within the high-end Private and Parastatals personnel value chain space. Prepare regular and special reports on asset status, quality metrics, and other relevant aspects as needed. Monitor the Private Banking loan portfolio to ensure it remains in optimal condition and adheres to acceptable risk thresholds. Conduct scheduled and event-driven evaluations to promptly recognize all potential early warning indicators. In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, perform detailed evaluations of all credit-related products and compile thorough reports for submission to the designated forums. Engage with action owners proactively to ensure all agreed-upon actions and issues are resolved promptly and thoroughly. Facilitate the timely and accurate preparation of reports for risk management forums, quality and watch list committees, the Credit Committee, and other stakeholders, ensuring submission within agreed-upon timelines while emphasizing performance relative to established credit quality benchmarks under the guidance of the Head of Private Banking. As the credit risk champion within the business process, you will provide regular feedback to the Head of Private Banking to ensure ongoing alignment and effectiveness. Exhibit dynamic leadership that fosters motivation and inspiration among peers and stakeholders while clearly articulating performance expectations tied to Portfolio Quality. Provide support to Senior Managers and Relationship Managers by overseeing, evaluating, and resolving all audit queries. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of private schemes and other unsecured personal lending offerings currently available in the market.

Excellent knowledge of the private sector Skilled in banking operations, financial markets, and regulatory requirements in Tanzania, with a comprehensive understanding of applicable procedures. Proactively driven and forward-thinking, you possess the capacity to drive innovation and spearhead transformative initiatives with confidence and autonomy.

  • Proficient in both English and Kiswahili communication, along with strong numerical, analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills.

Demonstrated capability to independently manage competing priorities and deliver results efficiently under tight deadlines and minimal oversight. Qualifications and Experience: Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, finance, accounting, banking, economics, business, or related disciplines. A master’s degree would be particularly beneficial for candidates applying to this position. With a minimum of four years of professional experience in business, credit, monitoring, inspection, audit, or specialized asset management (SAM) environments, candidates should demonstrate a strong background in these fields.
