Dump Truck Operator / TLB Operator

H.E. Jackson Engineering Ltd (HEJ), a leading provider of engineering solutions across Malawi’s mining, energy, agriculture, construction, and manufacturing sectors, is seeking two qualified TLB Operators (Dump Truck Drivers) for its Rumphi Project Site. This one-year fixed-term position reports to the Earthworks Foreman or Site Manager within the Plant & Machine/Operations Department. The role involves operating a TLB truck to transport construction materials such as sand, quarry, soil, and debris while adhering to road safety regulations and company protocols. Key responsibilities include safely driving and operating a tipper truck for material deliveries and collections, ensuring no spillage or damage during transport, conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking brakes, tyres, oil, lights, fuel, etc.), and coordinating the loading and offloading of materials with site personnel. Additional duties involve maintaining accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, and mileage, complying with traffic laws and occupational health and safety standards, reporting accidents, breakdowns, or mechanical faults promptly, keeping the vehicle clean and well-maintained, and following instructions from supervisors and dispatch teams. The position may also include other assigned tasks as required. Applicants must hold a Malawi School Certificate of Education or equivalent, possess a valid Malawian driver’s licence (Class C or G for heavy-duty vehicles), and demonstrate at least 2–5 years of proven experience operating tipper trucks or similar heavy vehicles, with a clean driving record free of serious traffic offences.
