We are seeking two experienced TLB Operators (Dump Truck Drivers) to join our Rumphi Project Site team at H.E. Jackson Engineering Ltd (HEJ), a leading provider of engineering solutions across Malawi’s mining, energy, agriculture, construction, and manufacturing sectors. Reporting to the Earthworks Foreman or Site Manager within the Plant & Machine/Operations Department, this one-year fixed-term position requires skilled professionals to safely and efficiently operate tipper trucks for transporting construction materials such as sand, quarry materials, soil, and debris while strictly adhering to road safety regulations and company protocols. Key responsibilities include driving and operating tipper trucks for material deliveries and collections, ensuring safe transport without spillage or damage, performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking brakes, tyres, oil, lights, fuel, etc.), coordinating material loading and offloading with site personnel, maintaining precise records of deliveries, fuel consumption, and mileage, and strictly observing all traffic laws and occupational health and safety standards. Additionally, you will promptly report accidents, breakdowns, and mechanical faults, keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained with regular servicing, follow supervisor and dispatch instructions, and undertake any other assigned tasks as required. Candidates must possess a Malawi School Certificate of Education or equivalent qualification, hold a valid Malawian driver’s licence in the appropriate heavy-duty category (Class C or G), and demonstrate at least 2–5 years of proven experience operating tipper trucks or heavy vehicles. A clean driving record free of serious traffic offences is essential.
