As a front-line, on-site leader, the Front-End Loader Operator sets the standard for safety, discipline, and productivity among equipment operators and site personnel, and plays a central role in keeping the crushing and haulage operation running smoothly. The role reports directly to the General Manager and requires strong equipment skills, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of quarry and plant operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as an on-site leader by setting a strong example of safety, punctuality, discipline, and professionalism for other equipment operators and site personnel. Operate the front-end loader to load crushed stone, aggregate, and raw material onto trucks and into the crusher feed hopper in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. Stockpile and organize materials on-site to optimize space, accessibility, and workflow across the quarry and plant. Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of the loader, including tires, hydraulics, fluid levels, bucket condition, and safety features, reporting any faults promptly. Coordinate closely with truck drivers, the Plant Manager/Crushing Supervisor, and quarry crew to maintain a steady and efficient flow of material loading and haulage. Monitor stockpile levels and communicate material shortages or surpluses to the General Manager and Plant Manager in a timely manner. Follow all site safety protocols, traffic patterns, and load limits when maneuvering the loader around trucks, personnel, and equipment. Maintain accurate operating records, including hours of operation, fuel usage, tonnage loaded, and maintenance or incident reports. Perform routine cleaning, greasing, and basic maintenance checks on the loader to keep it in good working condition and minimize downtime. Report any accidents, near-misses, equipment faults, or safety hazards to the General Manager immediately. Support fellow operators and junior staff by mentoring safe equipment handling and efficient loading techniques. Carry out any other duties as reasonably assigned by the General Manager. EXPERIENCE
Valid heavy equipment operator’s license or certification, where applicable, in good standing. 2 – 5 years of proven experience operating a front-end loader or similar heavy equipment, preferably in quarrying, mining, construction, or aggregate processing operations. Solid working knowledge of loader controls, hydraulics, and safe material-handling techniques. Basic literacy and numeracy sufficient to complete operating logs, tonnage records, and maintenance reports. Demonstrated understanding of routine equipment inspection and basic troubleshooting. Clean safety record with no history of serious equipment-related incidents. SKILLS & KEY ATTRIBUTES Strong leadership qualities and the ability to act responsibly as an on-site representative of the company. Excellent equipment handling skills with precision in loading, stockpiling, and maneuvering in tight or busy work areas. High level of reliability, punctuality, and personal accountability. Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, truck drivers, and site teams. Physical fitness and stamina to manage long hours and physically demanding site conditions. Honesty and integrity in handling company equipment and materials. Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment in emergency or high-pressure situations. WORKING CONDITIONS Based on-site at the Edrine Rock Crusher Inc. quarry and plant in Zarzone Town, District 1, Margibi County. Exposure to outdoor conditions, dust, noise, and heavy equipment typical of a quarry and crushing plant environment. May require early morning, evening, or occasional weekend work to meet production schedules. Adherence to all site safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
