About PEAS: PEAS is an international non-profit organization in the field of education, whose mission is to expand access to quality and sustainable secondary education in Africa. Since 2008, PEAS has built and managed non-profit, high-quality, low-cost secondary schools in close partnership with governments in communities where the demand for secondary education is urgent and unmet. We currently manage 30 secondary schools in Uganda, serving over 17,400 students. Following several rigorous external studies in recent years, we know that our school model works. In Uganda, PEAS students come from the poorest communities and have lower primary exam results than average. However, once enrolled in a PEAS school, they progress academically faster than their more privileged peers. This outcome is achieved at a lower cost per student than other types of schools.
