Formulation and Quality Control Chemist

Wandaz Products Limited, a player in the Manufacturing & Warehousing sector, is recruiting a Formulation and Quality Control Chemist for its site on Kapeeka-Semuto Road, Sanga, Wakiso (Uganda). The position is Full Time (8am-5pm) and reports to the Production Manager.

Context of the position

The Formulation and Quality Control Chemist will play a critical dual role: developing innovative formulations for personal care and household cleaning products, while ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct a complete review, verification, and validation of raw materials and products to ensure their compliance with mandatory standards and fitness for use.
  2. Work with the production team to ensure consistency of product quality.
  3. Monitor production processes and perform basic tests and quality controls.
  4. Drive the development of new and innovative products.
  5. Accurately maintain quality and R&D records.
  6. Coordinate and oversee product certification processes with UNBS.
  7. Review and approve specifications.
  8. Any other tasks that may be assigned.

Desired profile

Qualifications: BSc in Industrial Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field from a recognized university. Experience: minimum of three (03) years of professional experience in a similar manufacturing company as a Quality Controller, Production Technician, or R&D Officer. Language: English required. Level: Mid level.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    1. BSC Industrial Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or other related field from a reputable university
    1. Minimum of three (03) years of working experience in a similar manufacturing company as a Quality Controller, Production Technician, or R&D Officer.
