Quarry Accounts Manager
HRM & Logistics Support Services is recruiting a Quarry Accounts Manager to oversee the financial operations of its quarry activity. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support operational efficiency and profitability.
Job Context
This position is based in Ebonyi, Nigeria, on a full-time contract (8am-5pm). The sector of activity is transport and logistics. The proposed remuneration is 300,000 NGN per month. The required experience level is intermediate, with a minimum of 4 years of experience. The minimum qualification is a university degree. The working language is English.
Responsibilities
Provide overall financial leadership and supervision of the quarry's accounting operations. Supervise and coordinate the activities of accounts officers, weighbridge clerks, and storekeepers. Prepare and monitor annual budgets, financial forecasts, and investment plans. Analyze and optimize operational costs, including drilling and blasting expenses, fuel consumption, tire usage, equipment maintenance, and downtime. Manage accounts receivable, debts, credit sales, and cash flow. Ensure compliance with mining regulations, legal requirements, tax obligations, and royalty payments. Prepare and present weekly and monthly financial performance reports to management. Develop and implement effective financial controls to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency. Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure accurate financial documentation.
Candidate Profile
University degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the quarry, mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry sector. A professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
Strong skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and cost analysis. Good understanding of quarry operations, mining processes, and heavy equipment cost structures. Excellent leadership, supervisory, and team management abilities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to establish and maintain robust financial controls in a high-risk operational environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software.
