Compensation & Benefits Manager

CrossBoundary is looking for a full-time People Operations Manager - Compensation & Benefits to join the HR team. We are integrating global payroll management into the HR function, transforming manual processes into a robust, integrated, employee-centric system, and building a clear vision for how we reward and support our people across all our jurisdictions.

This role is a builder-operator position. You will receive high-level objectives and design the cross-functional plans, tools, and processes needed to achieve them, while also getting hands-on to manage the monthly payroll cycle, administer our compensation structure, and manage our benefits programs. Beyond payroll, you will be responsible for our compensation and benefits agenda, from developing a clear vision for our overall benefits package to designing a regular compensation review cycle that keeps our reward approach consistent as we grow. Expect a role balanced between system design and hands-on execution, and you must be motivated by both.

What you will do

Your main responsibilities include:

Payroll operations and transformation

Take over and transform the payroll process: assume full ownership of the HR side of payroll and redesign it. Our current process is manual and fragmented, and your mandate is to transform it into a structured, automated, and reliable system, not to maintain the status quo.

Own all payroll inputs: manage every update, change, and payroll input that feeds into financial execution each month, including new hires, salary changes, bonuses, deductions, advances, loans, and terminations, delivered accurately and on time according to the global payroll calendar, with payment execution remaining with finance.

New jurisdictions: manage the payroll input element for new jurisdiction setup: complete the payroll readiness checklist for new jurisdictions, document legal obligations, mandatory benefits, and 13th-month requirements, deliver comprehensive integration data packs to finance, and collaborate with finance on payroll vendor selection.

Rebuild the monthly rhythm: co-lead the monthly HR-Finance review where inputs are agreed and locked, and progressively replace manual spreadsheet steps with structured BambooHR reports and automated workflows so accuracy no longer depends on individual prowess.

Manage the employee experience: act as the single point of

  • Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
