Finance Manager Niger Niamey, Niger Trending Job Description About the Context Niger is facing a complex humanitarian context driven by displacement, population movements, and regional dynamics, particularly in border areas. The Diffa region continues to be affected by the Lake Chad Basin crisis, while Maradi hosts a significant refugee population alongside ongoing cross-border movements from Nigeria. Niger also serves as both a country of asylum and a transit route towards North Africa. According to the 2025 Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO), an estimated 2.6 million people need assistance across much of the country, with 1.6 million people projected to require humanitarian support in 2026. In this context, NRC has been present in Niger since 2019, delivering assistance to displaced and vulnerable populations. As part of the Central Sahel Multi-Country Office structure, Niger operations are aligned with regional priorities and respond to evolving needs in a challenging operational environment. NRC's response builds on its core competencies and focuses on ensuring principled, accountable, and needs-based programming. The purpose of the Finance function is to ensure that organizational financial resources are managed responsibly by providing accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and donor requirements and contributing to collective country management that ensures financial sustainability and integrity of the organization in Niger. The function works in partnership with the global operational departments and countries to enable NRC's mission. The Finance function is crucial for stewardship of organizational assets, providing strategic financial planning and analysis, managing internal controls, maximizing resource utilization, and ensuring accountability to all stakeholders.
