Expert Application Advice

What this role involves
You will support IPA’s Right-Fit Evidence Unit by advising partner organizations in Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, and the Philippines on how to design and use data for smarter program decisions. Day-to-day, you might lead workshops on monitoring systems, analyze data collection tools, or help partners adapt evidence to their local context. Expect to travel between countries, collaborate with teams, and bridge research with on-the-ground action.

Key skills to highlight
Show fluency in quantitative methods (e.g., RCTs, surveys, data analysis in Stata/R) and experience advising non-research partners like NGOs or government agencies. Strong project management across multiple countries is critical—prove you can coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and field teams. Familiarity with West or East African contexts (e.g., local languages, policy landscapes) is a major plus.

Taf4All CV tip
Create a dedicated “Advisory Experience” section. List 2-3 examples where you helped an organization use evidence to change a program, specifying the country, partner type, and outcome (e.g., “Advised Ghanaian health ministry on M&E system, reducing data lag by 40%”). Avoid generic bullet points—this role wants proof you can translate research into action.

Before you apply
IPA never charges fees for applications or interviews. Verify the job on IPA’s official careers page (innovationsforpovertyaction.org). If contacted by anyone asking for payment or personal banking details, report it immediately.
