Applications are invited from suitably qualified university graduates of Sierra Leonean nationality aged 18-35 years for a one-year entry-level training and mentorship program under the Public Service Fellowship Program, jointly implemented by the Government of Sierra Leone and Emerging Public Leaders (EPL) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. “Women, persons living with disabilities and Mastercard Foundation Scholars are encouraged to apply” About Emerging Public Leaders. Founded in 2016, EPL creates opportunities for young Africans to access meaningful and impactful public service careers through training and leadership development programs, targeted at the youth with the drive and potential to effect positive change in Africa’s governance. EPL works in partnership with government and local organizations to identify young university graduates and public service professionals committed to practicing and promoting good governance throughout Africa. With support through their career journeys, this diverse network of leaders influences and strengthens their country’s institutions for delivering democracy with excellence, care, innovation and integrity. About the Public Service Fellowship Program The Emerging Public Leaders (EPL) Public Service Fellowship Program attracts bright and motivated university graduates and young public service professionals in Africa, offering them the tools and support to develop into transformational public sector leaders across the continent. The Government of Sierra Leone and EPL in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, opened enrollment for the 2026 Fellowship program to recruit, train, and support the next generation of ethical and innovative young leaders in the Sierra Leonean Public Service. Following the selection of the cohort, the shortlisted candidates will be trained in a rigorous public service curriculum developed jointly by the Government of Sierra Leone and EPL to impart entry-level public servants with the necessary technical and soft skills to enhance public service delivery. Application Requirements. Interested applicants should meet the following minimum application requirements: Must be a Sierra Leonean national with valid national ID and Police Clearance Certificate
Must be university graduate with a bachelor’s degree certificate Must be aged 18-35 years at the time of application Must have basic computer skills Must have strong written and verbal English skills Must demonstrate commitment to public sector and leadership and potential’ track record of community involvement and a passion to serve Sierra Leone and ability to innovate and provide solutions in professional working environment. Must be committed to serving in the public service for a tenure of 1 year upon signing of Terms of Reference (ToR) with EPL-SL.
