Overview
The Rainforest Alliance lead auditor is responsible for conducting audits on farms and/or supply chain entities in accordance with both the audit scheme and SCS protocol. Auditors travel to client sites, perform audits, and submit their audit checklists for review and certification.
This is a contract position, and preferred candidates are located in Ivory Coast.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Audit Coordination
Schedule and confirm audit date with client as per the assignment instructions
Prepare and send client audit plan according to protocols
Book travel, hotel, and transportation according to company policy, and submit expense reports
Audit Services
Adhere to all quality and code of conduct standards
Conduct audits using applicable checklists, forms, and tools
Maintain positive client relationships and respond to all client inquiries and concerns
Submit complete and accurate audit reports within established timelines
Ensure thorough client records are maintained
Program Quality and Compliance
Attend trainings to maintain qualifications to conduct audits; maintain training records
Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable regulations and standards
Prepare clients for audit process by sending required audit plan
Minimum Qualifications
Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Agriculture Standard Farm and/or Supply Chain E-course certificate
Audit Log with minimum 10 environmental and social audits as a lead auditor within the most recent 4 years (e.g. RA, UTZ, Fair Trade, RSPO, GRASP, etc.)
Familiarity with the third-party certification process
Strong communication and customer service skills
Well-developed organizational and time management skills
Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and database systems
Education And Experience
University degree in agronomy, food systems, or agroforestry
40-hour quality management system training ISO 14001, 9001, 22000 (e.g. Exemplar Global, IRCA, etc.)
Lead Auditor course from a third party such as ISO 19011
40-hour social audit training (SA8000, SMETA, etc.)
Physical Requirements
Willing to travel up to 75%, mostly overnight travel throughout Ivory Coast
