Under the general supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, you will provide technical support to strengthen operations management across Offices in the Region. You will contribute to the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening fiduciary risk management, optimizing resource utilization, and promoting efficient business practices in line with regional and organizational priorities. Summary of key functions/accountabilities: Provide technical assistance and support to WCA Country Offices on Operations, financial, and administrative management. Support the implementation of regional and/or organizational improvement initiatives related to Operations Contribute to capability development and capacity development activities Act as technical focal point for the Senegal Common Services and the Cabo Verde Joint Office Conduct any specific tasks as requested by the Supervisor. Education : An advanced university degreee (Master's and equivalent) in one of the following areas is required: business management, financia management, accounting, public finance, and related operations function (risk and compliance, audit, international business, project management, etc.) is required or a full professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA, Expert compatible) from an internationally recognized institute/body of accountancy with valid membership in good standing is required.
Work Experience : A minimum of 5 years of professional experience, at international level, is required, specifically in implementing organizational initiatives in ore or more operations management area including budget, financial management, administrative management, risk and compliance with UNICEF, with a solid understanding of corporate policies, procedure, and internal control framework.
Skills : Proven ability to analyze performance indicators and transactional data is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders across countries and functions is required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required. Language Requirements : Proficiency in English and French is required. Desirables: Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language Progressive experience combined at both Country Office and Regional or Headquarters levels, in providing oversight, technical support, policy interpretation and guidance is highly desired. Experience in implementing organizational efficiency and business process improvement initiatives, such as UN reform initiatives, shared services, cost recovery mechanisms, and eco-efficiency or accessibility projects is desired. Proven track record in capacity development, including designing and delivering training or technical workshops for Finance and Administrative staff is desired. Ability to demonstrate initiative in identifying areas for improvement and propose practical solutions is an asset. Experience in data analytics, web-based management systems and ERP systems (preferably SAP) is considered as an asset. Knowledge of IPSAS and/or IFRS is considered as an asset.
