Job Ad & Profile Description Position : Maintenance Manager - Accra We are looking for a Maintenance Manager. Job Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, reliability, and safety of all plant machinery and equipment at GreenGate Foods. The role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous production within a food processing environment. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Planning & Execution Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all production equipment Oversee timely repairs and maintenance of machinery, utilities, and facility systems Ensure minimal disruption to production through effective maintenance planning Equipment Reliability & Performance Monitor equipment performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and uptime Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions Maintain accurate maintenance records and performance reports Utilities & Facility Management Oversee maintenance of utilities including boilers, compressors, refrigeration systems, and water systems Ensure proper functioning of facility infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards Enforce food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP) in all maintenance operations Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments Budgeting & Cost Control Prepare and manage the maintenance budget Monitor spare parts inventory and control maintenance costs Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety Team Leadership Supervise, train, and develop maintenance technicians and support staff Establish clear performance standards and ensure accountability Coordinate with production and quality teams for effective plant operations Vendor & Contractor Management Manage external contractors and service providers Negotiate service agreements and ensure quality service delivery Required profile for job ad : Maintenance Manager - Accra Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Minimum 5–8 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or food processing Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, automation systems, and utilities Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP and GMP Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills Key Competencies Preventive and predictive maintenance Equipment reliability and downtime reduction Health and safety compliance Budget and cost control Team leadership and development Analytical and problem-solving skills Reporting Line Reports to the Operations Manager / Plant Manager Work Environment Plant-based role involving regular interaction with production lines, machinery, and technical teams within a food processing facility.
