Roles & Responsibilities

A-  Business Development & Client Management

  • Develop and manage relationships with large corporate clients across key sectors.

  • Identify new business opportunities to grow deposits, loans, trade finance, and other corporate banking products.

  • Drive revenue growth through effective cross-selling of UBA products and services.

  • Ensure high standards of customer service and client satisfaction.

 

B-  Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and supervise Relationship Managers corporate banking.

  • Set performance targets and monitor team KPIs.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide empowerment and mentoring.

  • Foster a high-performance, ethical, and collaborative team culture.

 

C-  Credit & Risk Management

  • Oversee credit analysis, approval processes and loan monitoring.

  • Ensure compliance with UBA credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite.

  • Monitor portfolio quality and proactively manage non-performing exposures.

  • Participate in credit committees and provide informed recommendations.

 

D-  Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure all transactions comply with internal controls, regulatory standards and AML requirements.

  • Work closely with operations, risk, and compliance teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of business activities and performance.

 

E-  Strategy & Market Intelligence

  • Contribute to the corporate banking strategy and business plans.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sector developments. Knowledge of UBA organization structure

  • Practical & broad understanding of policies, methods, systems, processes

  • Career management

  • Knowledge of Vision platform

  • Performance management

 

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, credit analysis, and risk management.

  • Good understanding of the Cameroonian banking regulations and OHADA framework.

 

Skills

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills

  • Sound credit judgment and analytical abilities

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Results-driven with strong business acumen

  • Proficiency in English and French

 

Key Performance Indicator

  • Growth in corporate deposits, loan portfolio, revenue and profitability targets

  • Portfolio quality (NPL ratio as per UBA policy)

  • Client acquisition and retention

  • Team performance and productivity

 

  Education Requirements

Bachelor degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, or related field

 

Experience

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in corporate banking, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
